Goodbye Red

March 16th, 2006

Hall of Fame referee Red Story passed away Wednesday at the age of 88.

”Red Storey brought passion, dedication and enthusiasm to each and every game as an NHL referee,” NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said in a statement. ”Long after his retirement as an on-ice official, he continued to serve as one of the truly great ambassadors for the game in his travels around North America officiating charitable games.

”On behalf of the NHL family, we extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Bunny and sons Bob and Doug.”

Kellie and Lonnie - A Conversation

Yesterday’s taping went well. We didn’t have our scripts detailed enough and we didn’t have enough time beforehand with the rental equipment so there were some goof ups. We did tape an hour of a conversation between Kelly and Lonnie that was worth every penny of the video/audio rental.

We’ll post a quick clip or two later when we have a chance.

Taping

Tomorrow we are heading to the rink to take some video for tutorials we are going to stream from HockeyOfficials.com. It should be fun as we have Kelly Sutherland and Lonnie Cameron as our video instruction team for this shoot. Also attending will be Jason Burkhart (ECHL Linesman) and HockeyOfficials.com founder, Tim Digby (ECHL Linesman.)

PG Hockey sponsored the shoot.
